Description: By popular request, Ventura Wild has launched an adult-focused program series! Have you ever wanted to try whittling, make a friction fire, explore edible plants, or craft with natural materials?

Each 3-hour session is inspired by our beloved kids’ programs but designed with adults in mind. We’ll play, awaken our senses, reflect, and practice primitive skills, with the chance to create a take-home craft. Every class in the series is a unique experience—registration and pricing are per class, so you can join for one or come to them all! Perfect for parents, teachers, or anyone curious about connecting more deeply with nature, this series invites you to reconnect with your inner child and experience the wonder of the wild.

General Flow of the Day:

  • Arrival & Welcome – Settle in with a meet-and-greet activity or game.
  • Opening Circle – Share reflections and set intentions for the day.
  • Nature Connection & Skills – Guided, hands-on time to explore skills, crafts, and sensory awareness practices.
  • Reflection – Time to integrate experiences through journaling, sharing, or quiet observation.
  • Closing & Gratitude – End the day with connection and appreciation.

Our Teaching Philosophy
At Ventura Wild, our programs are guided by the Four Stages of Nature Connection:

  1. Sensory Awareness – Awakening our senses deepens our relationship with the natural world and reminds us of our place within it.
  2. Knowledge – Curiosity becomes the spark for learning, discovery, and critical thinking.
  3. Skills – Ancestral and craft-based practices nurture resilience, self-sufficiency, creativity, and joy.
  4. Stewardship – Connection naturally leads to care, responsibility, and meaningful action for the earth and our communities.

Together, these stages create a space where adults can reconnect with their inner child, cultivate practical skills, and leave with both a handmade craft and a renewed sense of belonging in nature.
